Bangladesh to host Iran films free screening

Bangladesh is set to host free screenings of Iranian movies in conjunction with 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

Bangladesh is set to host free screenings of Iranian movies in conjunction with 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

The six-day long show will begin on February 9 at the Bangladesh National Museum organized by Iran Cultural Centre in Dhaka and Bangladesh National Museum with inauguration ceremony to be held at the main auditorium of the museum, a media report said Monday.

The famous Iranian film ‘Body Guard’, directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia will be the opening screening of the event.

‘Crazy Rook’ by Abolhassan Davoodi and Kiumars Pourahmad's latest drama ‘Where Are My Shoes’  will be screened on February 12, while the screening of ‘A Cube of Sugar’ and ‘Today’ both directed by Reza Mir-Karimi will be held on February 13 and 14, respectively.

Some of the movies will be screened with English subtitles at 11 am and 3 pm every day. The admission to screenings is free of charge for the general public with the event closing slated for February 14.

The 39th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, marking the overthrow of the US-backed Pahlavi dynasty, is honored in Iran and many countries from February 1-11, 2017.
